The weather in Van Nuys is mostly clear when other areas have low clouds and fog.
Even though Los Angeles has some of the busiest airspace in the nation, Van Nuys in the northern part of Los Angeles has plenty of room and low traffic areas easily reachable nearby.
Even though traffic in Van Nuys can get quite heavy at times, since we have two runways there still are fewer delays on average compared to other flight schools in Los Angeles. Save for the very peak hours on weekends traffic actually moves quite well for a busy airport.

First Flight Lesson/Introductory Flights $199 - $398
Our first flight lesson experience:
You are at the controls and will learn first hand what piloting an aircraft is all about.The two hour discovery flight appointment with your FAA certificated instructor includes one hour aircraft time.
We also offer a more in depth introductory flight package which includes a two hour flight block. You can even bring a guest along to ride in the back (weight restrictions apply)
During your introductory flight lesson you are at the controls and will learn first hand what piloting an aircraft is all about.

Your experienced flight instructor will share his preflight preparations with you and demonstrate a walk around inspection of the aircraft.
Then it's time to take your place in the captain's seat performing checklists to start up and taxi the aircraft.
After the necessary pre-departure checks you will assist the instructor with the takeoff and you can expect to do most of the controlling of the flight. Your instructor will again assist you with the landing.
